It will not work as a web-cam on Windows 7 Starter. No work-around exists. It will not work. I did not buy it for that, but tested it, researched why it failed, and learned there is nothing to be done about it. For what it is worth, it seems to be a Microsoft problem.

It does feel heavy'ish, but seems to sit fine. If you want volume it must be turned on, and it will stop recording when there is no noise of voices. So you end up with multiple videos from one outing. I've yet to try recording with volume off. Its low weight has allowed me to attach it using Velcro to my car mirror so I can record my journeys. While a waterproof camera isn’t essential — unless you’re planning on going swimming with your horse — opting for a camera that’s waterproof or comes with a waterproof case is a good idea. This means you can use it in all weathers and don’t have to worry about mud or water damaging it. Mount The field of view is a little narrower than I would like for a dash-cam, and the field of view seems to be columnated a bit below perpendicular. To put that another way, the center of the video is about 10-15 degrees below that at which I am aiming.
