This consists of the liturgy for Morning, Midday and Evening Prayer and a set of 31 daily meditations from sources that are important to the Community’s foundation and ethos. I love the rhythm of this liturgy, the way the prayers work deep into your heart and mind (as you use them more and more), going with you throughout your day, and bringing you back again.
The Community also uses a quarterly Prayer Guide (contact Ellen or Charlotte in the Community Office). Topics include reaching adulthood/mid-life/old-age; renewal of a marriage; the summer solstice; living with pain; blessing a garden; Christmas preparation; after an argument; scattering ashes; studying; peace; the 'father wound'; loyalty and sleep, among many, many others. A revised edition of this classic compendium of readings and prayers for every day of the year, with Celtic themes and inspiration. I normally use the Benedictine Daily Prayer [breviary] which holds a special place in my heart but the Celtic Daily prayer is a lovely change and not so very far removed.

When there is no information about the particular needs of the persons, families and situations brought to mind, the following prayer is helpful: These dear ones, O Lord, bless Thou and keep in every place where they are. Such waste – making all the mistakes once and again, each generation making the same mistakes, fumbling in ignorance and darkness. After the scripture readings and meditations, there is an opportunity to pray whatever is on your mind and heart, offering to God the concerns of the day, your personal needs and prayers for other people.
